The small city of Tàrrega will become, for the next 4 days, the stage for hundreds of shows of performing arts, street arts, visual and musical performances and unconventional artistic projects. As every year since 1981, artists from all around the world will show their work to an audience of over 150.000 people in the most important Street Arts Festival in Spain: FiraTàrrega (Tàrrega Street Theater Festival).
Visual and multidisciplinary spectacles, dance, circus, clowns, puppets,… staged on the streets or in indoor or outdoor stages, silent or talked shows, new ideas and young companies and also veteran street artists, shows aimed for family audiences and also sophisticated ideas and performances. Variety, diversity, culture, entertainment, nice atmosphere… This is what FiraTàrrega offers to its audience.
During the day, the Festival has a familiar atmosphere, with shows for children and other activities and, at night, it’s the time for light and music performances and for the party atmosphere to take the streets. A corner of a square or the shade under an arcade become improvised stages and as you walk through the streets, you bump into a show after another. It’s worth enough to visit the Festival for one day, but the whole Tàrrega Experience requires spending at least one night. The city offers some accommodation, but most of it is already taken by the professionals but the Festival also offers a free camping site next to town, which makes the event a meeting point for young people of all around the country, who spend there the four days of the Festival.
FiraTàrrega is a popular Festival but also an international market of scenic arts. Tàrrega Theatre Festival offers a space for exhibition, the buying and selling of shows and a forum for contacting, exchanging and disseminating among professionals.

Tàrrega is a small town in Lleida province. It is set in a big plain in the center of Catalonia. It’ is the capital of a rural and farmer region and it has some contryside atmosphere. The squares and streets of the old town make the stages for the shows during the Theater Festival, but it also has open areas in its surroundings. The climate is dry and hot, but it can get a bit chilly at nights. You can get there by train or bus (around 2 hours trip) or by car from Barcelona (1h 30 minutes approx).
